Audiologist
416-792-7778
Frank obtained a Clinical Master's of Science degree in Audiology from Western University and an Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from York University. He is a member, in good standing, with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO, Ontario licensing body). Frank is a member of the Canadian Academy of Audiology (CAA), and has been featured in the CAA academic journal, CanadianAudiologist, for his work on making hearing healthcare more globally accessible.
Frank pursued the career of audiology following the observation of an audiologist performing a hearing aid fitting on an elderly patient with hearing loss. After receiving the proper hearing aid, Frank observed this patient's quality of life drastically improve as he became more involved with his family and attended more social events. After this life changing experience, Frank was motivated to learn more about this wonderful field. In 2015, another life changing experience had Frank conduct research in remote Arctic areas near Inuvik, Northwest Territories and Iqaluit, Nunavut. During his research, Frank observed the lack of audiology care and hearing resources for local residents in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Residents of these remote areas reported that they desperately needed hearing related services. This experience provided Frank a first-hand look at how low resource areas are significantly disadvantaged in hearing healthcare services. Over the last 3 years, Frank has worked on making hearing healthcare more globally accessible, and his efforts have been featured on websites such as AudiologyOnline, CanadianAudiologist, Medium, and Hackaday.
After working as an audiologist in a hearing aid clinic, a pediatric audiology hospital unit, and an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) medical practice, Frank has gained a comprehensive and thorough skill set in working with people of all ages, hearing abilities, and diverse backgrounds. Frank understands that hearing test results and choosing the right hearing aid can be overwhelming, which is why he is very patient and spends extra time with his patients to explain results and recommendations in a clear, transparent, and easy-to-understand way. Frank's clients greatly benefit from his understanding of the difficulties associated with hearing loss. Frank ensures that all of his patients learn how to successfully use their hearing devices and implement communication strategies in everyday life.
Frank strongly believes that his patients should receive audiology care that is of high quality and scientifically-backed. After writing his thesis during his Bachelor's degree, Frank became well versed in critical research methods and science-based practices, which he uses to help his patients hear and communicate effectively. Using the latest Audiologist technology, Frank ensures his patients receive exceptional hearing healthcare. Frank incorporates a multi-faceted approach to healthy hearing, which includes professionally fit hearing devices, empathetic counseling, effective communication strategy courses, and helpful hearing workshops. Frank uses his highly skilled aptitude in audiology and hearing technology to help his patients hear the world that they have been missing.
